Our teacher Miss Bruce was on a course in Stirling. She met a lady called Mrs Gibson. She is a teacher at Castlefield Primary, East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire. In the summer holidays she is going to Malawi for 5 weeks to stay in a rural area with a local family. She is also going to help children in a school which does not have much resources. Mrs Gibson asked our class if they knew any maths or language games that needed no resources. We sent our ideas to her on glow. This is the first time we used Glow. We left our ideas in the Discussion Page.
If you have any ideas let us know by leaving a comment.

We are studying the story of Thomas Edison.

In the story it tells you that he had a hard life with only 10% hearing.

Most  of edison’s inventions were turned down by people who thought they were bad inventions and he got fired from all of his jobs so he began to start inventing things by himself.
We learned six secrets of success from the story of Thomas Edison. They are confidence, not limited by the beliefs of others, positive attitude, stick with it ability, enthusiasm and energy. We are going to try to use these in our class.

On Monday the 12th of November 2007 Mr McDonald came to our school to teach us about being good footballers. He will be coming to our school for 16 weeks. For the warm up we got split up in to two groups an orange and a red team and had to dribble around the field with a partner and pass the ball to your partner when told. Then we started using our weaker foot to control the ball. Then we played football. We had two pitches and four teams. After all of the teams had played each other we did a cool down exercise with stretches and passes of the ball.By Stewart and Calum.

On Monday the 12th of November Rob (the football coach) came to our school to teach us some football skills. We will be having this for another 15 weeks.
For the warm-up we got split into two groups. We had an orange team and a red team. We had to team up with a different team colour and practise dribbling, one person was dribbling and the other was following them behind then we swapped over.
There were two different pitches that we played on. There were four teams that we got split into, every team played each other team.
At the end of the matches we had to cool down and checked our pulse, by cooling down half of us did stretches and the other dribbled the ball around the people that were stretching.
We all enjoyed the football and can’t wait for the next lesson!

A couple of weeks ago we made jabberwocky models. We had to make a card model with at least one moving part.We used card, paper and Stanley knifes (with our teachers supervision) to cut the card, some people just did the jabberwocky face and others did the body too.

We’ve been writing newspaper reports about the Jabberwocky zigzag books we’ve been making. The newspaper reports were the first proper news reports done by P7B this year. People made quite a few mistakes, although we learnt from it. By Jason and Lewis

This term we have been studying the Jabberwocky.

You can listen to a version of the poem by clicking here

Our class had to do an alternative version to the poem. We replaced the nonsense words with real words. We had to work out which words were nouns, verbs and so on. We recorded some of our versions of the alternative Jabberwocky poems on  audacity.

Matthew recorded his version too picture1.jpg
